SPOnG knows we shouldn't hate aliens. We know they just look different, we know they may well come in peace, we know that in some cases they're kind of cute and live in your house, we even know that they're not all the same kind of alien as SPOnG's resident Aussie. But... something about the ugly bastards just makes us want to blow them into a mother-loving gooey mess of unmentionable stuff.
Well, judging by the trailer below, thankfully Midway's upcoming next-gen shooter, Blacksite: Area 51, looks set to give us the opportunity we're after. SPOnG is hoping that, someday soon, someone can come up with a new story idea for all first-person shooters. There's only so many aliens we can blow up before it starts to get repetitive. We know the Area 51 series has been knocking around since the back end of the '90s, but the aliens are managing to look suspiciously like Akrid in Lost Planet.
Anyway, cast your eyes downwards and see what you think.
