SEGA's corporate director, Masanao Maeda, has weighed in on the next-gen platform wars, and he reckons Sony needs to be looking at the PS3's price.
"Name brand, price and software are what count", he said in an interview with news agency Reuters. "Since it's getting difficult to make software availability a differentiating factor, superior marketing and pricing strategy will be the key for Sony", he continued.
SEGA's been refreshingly open of late, with the company's COO, Simon Jeffries, recently
admitting its spiky blue mascot needs a bit of C.P.R.
Sony's Head of Worldwide Studios, Phil Harrison, might be inclined to disagree with the first part of Maeda's comments. He recently
said, “the best games with the best technology are coming exclusively to [Sony] platforms."
