Microsoft has revealed the 49 achievements up for grabs in Halo 3, and in the process has thrown a scintillating hint about a new game-play mode.
Some 90 points are up for grabs in what are being referred to as “Campaign meta-games”. There are ten points available in each meta-game, with one of them for each of the nine listed missions.

Dare I say, let us harken back to the days when games not only weren't HD, but weren't any more than 8-bit. These simplistic sprites and blocks are what evolved into what we today refer to as the greats, the games that make us stay up for 36 hours straight and conquer every animated pixel that dares challenge us.
There must be SOMETHING great about games like these, even if they aren't HD, because if there isn't, then how did games become a multi-billion $ industry? There are hardly any out there even now that are of high definition, yet still they lure in thousands.
Even High Definition itself wasn't a mainstay in our lives until only a couple years ago. So does that mean that everything before a few years ago was Crap? Irrelevant? A waste of Time?
No, I think not. Not only that, but Evolution of an aspect, of an idea, of a learning tool, a method of relaxation...I think that certainly quantifies itself more-so than your misguided words & lack of forethought.
Methinks that for someone to say such a Stupid thing as "It's not even HD" perhaps hasn't really dealt with anything other than spoon-fed thoughts and regurgitated opinions.
A game like HALO, for example, goes far beyond simply a game. It was an idea and has since spawned a culture. A collection of random thoughts and peoples no more, it has spanned the globe in a few short years.
All this, because someone went and thought outside the box.
But, If there was a box, you would be in it. And it traps you.

OK, so far both those comments, 100% useless, the question that is at hand here, is the meta game for Halo 3, not if its a good game or if the games of the past are any good, here is my comment, bently is retarded, because every game is its own, just because a game could be similar to another game does NOT make it a rip off of that game, or "for nancies" as for RetroOffline, you have good points but that has NOTHING.... noithing at all to do with the question at hand, the reson that the gaming industry is a multi-billion dollar industry, is because everyone wants to escape there real life, so they do what they can to get out of it, hence video games trigger things in your mind that are as if you live a new life, and everyone loves living a fantasy.

When playing with Campaign Scoring turned on, the player plays a normal campaign mission (single player or cooperative), but progress is scored with points for notable activities. Having skulls activated increases the amount of points gained, as well as accuracy and kill count. Different enemies give different points as do head shots (and assumable any other kill that would be worth a medal). Betrayals will cause negative points so cooperative work will be necessary.
