The high-flying Fox McCloud is under the spotlight in the latest batch of
Super Smash Bros. Brawl art and screens.
The game's director, Masahiro Sakurai, elaborated on what we should expect from McCloud, saying, “Fox is just one of many so-called speed characters. His costume has been completely updated, so he’s full of fighting spirit.
“Run! Fly! Move boldly! For such moves are the essence of Fox!”
Fox's gun features in the artwork. But, given that Solid Snake will be unable to use “real-world guns” in the game, it's unclear whether the gun will be any more than an aesthetic prop.
Sakurai also let fly an intriguing nugget of information about
Smash Bros control system, “The Nintendo Wii really is a versatile piece of hardware. I mean, when it comes to controllers, there are pretty much four different types,” he said, continuning, “I guess I have no choice but implement them all!”
That means that, as well as the Wii Remote/Nunchuck combo and the Wii Remote turned on its side, the Classic and GameCube controllers will be compatible with the game.
Alas, he wasn't giving anything away about how the Wii Remote and Nunchuck will work together, teasing, “Hmm? How do you do smashes and dashes with just the Wii Remote? If I get the chance to tell you, I will.” What a cad.
