Nintendo's telling us all that Zelda II – The Adventure of Link, which is due in the United States on June 4 marks the 100th classic game available on the Wii Shop Channel. Not only that, but since going live on November 19th 2006, Wiiers (owners of Wii) have downloaded more than 4.7 million retro games from Wii's Virtual Console, a rate of more than 1,000 games every hour since launch.

Nintendo has also provided us with its Top 5 downloads thus far, they are:

1) Super Mario Bros. (NES)
2) Super Mario 64 (N64)
3) Mario Kart 64 (N64)
4) Super Mario World (SNES)
5) The Legend of Zelda (NES)

So, there we are. Who says that new games are great acheivements? Well, who does? We can only await the an Amiga Download Space... and wait... and wait.

I hated Zelda 2. I have a gold cartridge of it in close to perfect condition.
I played it though despite not liking it. It was an exercise in repetition. Also the music drove me nuts, ended up playing with the sound off.

Needless to say I never got past world 8. So close and yet aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrghhhh SHUT UP!!

Zelda needs to be associated with gold stuff again, because it emphasizes how good and important it is. They should give away gold accessories with it, or something (not solid gold, obviously, but gold colour will do).

The first Wind Waker releases came on a gold disc in a gold case.

I think Zelda II is an awful game too, I have no idea how any one could possibly find it enjoyable (Zelda I is only marginally better).
