Just when we thought we were almost content with our iPod-a-like shiny Crystal White, Ice Blue, Enamel Navy, Noble Pink and Jet Black DS Lites, Nintendo goes and introduces two even-more-must-have new glossy colours, with these new DS Lite models in Metallic Rose and Gloss Silver (pictured) out in Japan on 23rd June.
For those out there who are shamelessly still rocking the ‘oh so two years ago’ silver DS Behemoth model, surely it’s time to get with the 2007 vibe and upgrade to a DS Lite. Go on. You can give your nephew the battered old one and score bonus points from being full-power, super-generous videogaming uncle (or aunt but not 'auntie') of justice.
DS Lites in Japan currently set you back 16,800 Yen, (around £70). If you can find one.
SPOnG contacted Nintendo UK earlier and we were informed that there are no plans at present to launch the two new coloured DS Lites in Europe. Spoilsports!

my friend still has a ds prototype, he cant bring himself to play it anymore or buy games for it because hes played dslites and seen the superior experience they bring. so hes missing out on lots of gaming superbness due to games that keep coming out for systems he does still play winning the attention of his wallet, like most recently God of War II and Guitar Hero II. hes a massive FF fan though, i think FF3 not only being released but going for 17.99 on play.com is the kick up the arse he needs. just bought it myself, think im f**king up the job system though

Silver like my original DS brick. I'm yet to bag a DS Lite, but a black or white one would be nice.
FF3 for £18! That's cool. I'm more tempted by Sim City and more playing doctor in Life Signs Hospital Affairs.

I also think silver and pink are a bit old fashioned these days - black and white are the ones. Maybe they should do a proper colour range like the GB again.
