Avast me hearties, here there be new videos!
Ahem. It probably hasn't escaped your notice that the
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is hitting cinemas this weekend, and nothing generates games like a summer blockbuster. To get you into the mood for
Pirates of the Carribean's cross-platform gaming explosion, SPOnG has some videos to take you behind the scenes of the game's development.
First up is a look at how Disney Interactive went about translating the last two summer blockbuster films into summer blockbuster games. Thrown in for good measure is a healthy dose of swashing, buckling and buccaneering gameplay.
When you're done with that, SPOnG has a video about how the Wii version of
Pirates was approached. More specifically, the developers chat about how your Wii Remote gets turned into a sword. There's a bit of concern around the SPOnG office that Disney's merely pandering to traditional pirate stereotypes. That said, however, we fancy a bit of Wii swordplay as much as the next group of dashing gamers.
If all that leaves you gagging for more, you can take a look at the
in-game footage SPOnG brought you on Wednesday, then cast your eye over SPOnG's
dedicated game page.
