Hudson Entertainment has announced that it's bringing
Bomberman to Xbox Live Arcade this Summer, re-vamped and re-tooled for next-gen gamers.
Don't worry,
Bomberman Act: Zero this ain't. No screwy 3D
Tron-alikes here. The core gameplay mechanic's being kept intact, but online play allows eight gamers to duke it out at once and the requisite splash of HD graphics has been thrown in for good measure. Players can also customise their bomberman, with an impressive 10,000 customisations available.
"This has been one of our most requested games, our fans have been clamoring for it, and we are thrilled to finally be able to deliver the game they want," said the president of Hudson Entertainment, John Greiner. "As our flagship series, Bomberman has been hailed as the best multiplayer game ever created. Now that Xbox LIVE Arcade delivers a truly worldwide multiplayer gaming platform, we can at last bring to market a Bomberman game that represents our long-term vision of the brand."
SPOnG's just pleased that Hudson's still got the stones to put out a game called
Bomberman in today's paranoid, anti-terror society. War Against Error, we say.
