With motion control, no less

Next Gen Bowling on PS3
If you are a PS3-owner and haven’t played Wii Sports and are secretly a little jealous when your Wii-owning friends talk about what joyous fun it is, then the news that Sony has announced a next gen, motion-controlled downloadable bowling game for PlayStation Network called High Velocity Bowling (pictured) will brighten up your day.

Sony has announced that High Velocity Bowling will make full use of the Sixaxis' motion controls. Holding the controller with your thumb between the analog sticks, the player sweep his or her arm along an arc while holding and releasing a button to send your ball crashing down the lane into the pins.

This all sounds a bit weird (holding a PlayStation controller with one hand?!), but we’ll reserve judgement until we get a hands on with the game out at E3 in July. Pricing, release dates and so on to follow shortly, though expect it to be available for around the price of a few lagers sometime later this year.

Oh baby this is sooo sweet...I can almost taste the sweat on Nintendo's brow...it's a little salty but laced with a dash of panic. It's time to whip that new HD console out that you're secretly developing Nintendo...common, you can see the writing on the wall too - call the Wii a win and release something decent now that we can ALL enjoy.

Does sound a little bit extreme a controller configuration to play. You're probably going to look more retarded flailing with a SIXAXIS in one hand than you are with a one-handed Wii Remote. Of course, you have the fact that Wii Sports was a pack-in and it included four other games and I think you'll find people might be less receptive to pay money for this on a 'true' next gen console.
