Games? What about games? Apparently they are simple transports for all sorts of other media. In the case of good old Konami, the latest - sorry oldest - is music.
According to Michael Rajna, Music Manager at Konami Digital Entertainment, "Music has been at the foundation of Konami’s games for decades, and now consumers will be able to enjoy these classic tunes on their own."
How? Well, Konami's done a deal with Sony BMG to enable the latter to publish the stonking game tunes from such glories as, Castlevania, Silent Hill, Dance Dance Revolution, Elebits, and old stagers like Gradius and Contra in order to PCs and mobile devices.
The songs that, for 25 years, have eased our joysticky digits through yet another level will be downloadable from Konami itself (so why the license deal, especially if it already has Mr Rajna, it's music manager?) and also on standard music outlets such as Apple's iTunes (Ahhh! No, we still don't understand).
