The weekend's approaching, which can only mean one thing: it's Virtual Console Day! This week, Virtual Console's ranks are bolstered by NES Open Tournament Golf and Ninja Spirit.
NES Open Tournament Golf features your two favourite plumbers, Mario and Luigi, battling it out on the course for plaid supremacy. When SPOnG sees the words 'golf' and 'Wii' in the same context we automatically get a bit excited but, alas, Virtual Console titles come without use of the Wii Remote. Nonetheless, you can get your jollies by having Princess Peach as your caddy. Yup, a Princess as your caddy! NES Open Tournament Golf originally hit the NES in 1992. It can be purchased for 500 Wii Points.
Ninja Spirit arms you with a katana and puts you in the role of a lone warrior out to avenge the death of his father. Sure, the chap's called 'Moonlight' and sounds like the most effeminate ninja of all time, but he has shadow powers! This action-platformer comes from the Turbographx and costs 600 Wii Points.
This week's releases bumps the number of Virtual Console titles up to 87.
