SEGA News Shower: Universe at War Heads to 360

Universe at War: Earth Assault now heads to home console

Posted by Staff
SEGA has just sent news that RTS title Universe at War, is set for release on the Xbox 360 in addition to the already-announced PC version later in 2007.

Developed by Petroglyph, this combat-intensive RTS game enlists players in an epic struggle to prevent total alien domination of planet Earth.

Aliens taking over earth. OMG, who would have thought up such a storyline for an RTS!! (Enough sarcasm already! – Ed)

From the mouth of SEGA, “Universe at War: Earth Assault for the Xbox 360 will employ a control scheme built from the ground up to ensure smooth gameplay and ease of command for console gamers. Great attention has been paid to implement a balanced gamescape for multiplayer games for console players. As in the PC version, weaponry and defenses can be modified in true real-time to take advantage of constantly shifting battlefield conditions. Fully customisable tech trees will allow players to control the development of technologies that they feel are key to victory.”

Corporo-quote alert! This time from Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing for SEGA over in America, who chips in with, “Universe at War: Earth Assault is poised to break new grounds in RTS gaming by entering the console arena. With a control scheme specifically designed with console gamers in mind, RTS gaming can now conquer the console frontier.”

Damn this looks superb, besides just getting C&C3 on 360, this looks worth chalking up on my list.

Sega, I like that you are trying hard to recapture your pedigree. Why is it that some japanese efforts slip but then you back something great like this?

Sega Rally and this should get you back in my favour quickly.
