Takashi Oka, one of Japan’s leading financial analysts, has gone on record to say that he thinks that Nintendo might come unstuck regarding their projected release date for the GameCube.
In an interview with Bloomberg Japan, Oka said that as Nintendo was concentrating its energies on the Game Boy Advance, "it could be difficult for Nintendo to release the GameCube right afterwards in July"
It is important to get these comments into perspective. Nintendo is treated as a national institution in Japan and regarded with great fondness by almost everyone. It is, therefore, more than likely that these comments stem from genuine concern and not cynical back-biting.
