Eidos/SCi has changed it’s corporate tune today, finally committing to releasing some decent-looking, original titles on the PS3 this year, with both
Kane and Lynch (pictured) and
Crossfire set to grace Sony’s beleaguered new platform this Christmas.
In addition to the already announced versions on PC and Xbox 360, you understand.
Kane and Lynch , you may remember, is a new rather disturbing-looking game (in a good way) from Hitman developer IO Interactive, while
Crossfire is currently being put together over at Pivotal Games.
"The Board believes that a release of these products simultaneously on all three platforms (PS3, Xbox 360 and PC) including the two next generation platforms will benefit the long term revenue potential for these two strong franchises rather than releasing different versions at different times," the company said in a statement today.
SCi is also looking to sell the movie rights to
Kane and Lynch, with a movie version of Hitman currently somewhere in development hell over at Fox Studios.
