Resident Evil On Wii Out In June

Roll on hot and evil summer nights

Posted by Staff
Nintendo just sent word that Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition is slated for a 29th June release in Europe. Sweet news indeed for all those gamers out there who have shamefully not already played through the GameCube version of the game.

New title, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles is an on-rails light-gun stylee shooter affair – which has already divided Res Evil fans – and is still slated for a 2007 release, so we can only but hope that we do get to see that this side of Christmas.

Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition features the original exciting story and gameplay of the first game but with the new and intuitive Wii controls, you can’t help but feel that you are actually part of the action. Players navigate the plush and sinister locations with the Nunchuk, while aiming and firing their weapon or using their knife with the Wii Remote. On top of the game’s main mode, players can also take on the role of the mysterious Ada Wong with her story interacting with that of Leon throughout,” Nintendo’s press release informs us.

Roll on summer, at least Capcom and Nintendo are giving us a good enough reason to spend the clammy season holed up indoors.

i think this game is very important for the wii.

zelda and scarface have already showed, when motion sensing is done properly it can enhance games. This could and should be another example to show people the motion sensing correctly implemented,is the nest step.

i dont think i will be getting it because i played the GC version to death but for anybody who hasnt played it...get this version.(aslong as capcom dont slip up)

I love this and yes I'd buy it a second time. Worth the money to have a go at those towns people again, with better control. Bravo for a brave move, Capcom.

I'm happy with Resi4 coming out again. The more people who get to experience that sort of game the better.
I wouldn't buy it again though.

Does anyone know if this is a port of the GC or PS2 game? I can't see it being any sort of enhanched version in that timescale but am I wrong?

As embarrassing as it is I still haven't made it through the original, hell I'm only an hour into RE ZERO! I'm the type of gamer that plays about 80%-90% niche/less popular titles, so I'm constantly playing the catch-up game as far as mainstream series are concerned. Also, I simply MUST play game series in ORDER! So it's going to be a while until I get to RE4, but I'm hoping to resume Zero soon...right after I finish Killer 7 on Killer 8 mode...and finish the last dozen missions of Front Mission 4 (I DID say it was going to be a while, didn't I?)...

...but yes, I will certainly be purchasing the Wii version!

ive conceded, ill probably end up getting this in the end. but im just really disappointed that i dont get to play a new resi game using that terrific engine. i was so sure thats what umbrella chronicles was going to be!

ive finished re4 5 times or so. ill have fun with this but i dont know how much play ill get out of it.

and im almost certain the wii version will be built upon the gamecube version, considering its already superior to the ps2 version and written on software entirely similar to the wii development tools, for hardware almost indentical to the gamecube
