Wii Health And Wii Music Coming Soon!
The next Wii releases to mark on your calender will be Wii Music and Wii Health Pack, according to George Katrinakis, the CEO of Greece's Nintendo distribution company, Nortec Multimedia.

In a recent interview, however, Katrinakis let a few juicy morsels slip about “two products that I do not believe... can be categorised.”

First up is Wii Music, resembling a demo seen at E3 last year. In it, according to Katrinakis, the user uses the Wii remote as (what we assume translates as) a baton to conduct an orchestra. Users will also be able to dive in and take control of individual musicians, as well as sending tunes they've composed to other Wii owners.

The Wii Health Pack sounds like an expansion on the fitness option in Wii Sports. It will prompt users to perform certain exercises. If you're thinking “Puh! I can not enjoy exercise without a Wii Remote in my hand,” then the next bit might grab your attention. The Wii records data from your workout and send it to a local hospital for analysis. After a few hours you'll get a report back to tell you just how unhealthy you are!

SPOnG presumes that the hospitals in question will be private in the UK, since we really, really hope that the NHS has better things to do than monitor our Wii.

According to Katrinakis the games will be out by the end of the year.

SPOnG contacted Nintendo UK to get some confirmation, but was told, “We are not making any official announcements.” While Katrinakis probably shouldn't have been running his mouth off about these projects, however, we highly doubt that a man in his position is fibbing.

Greek's a tricky language to translate directly, but our man Sotiris (from Greece), has given it a go and you can read Katrinakis' comments in full below.

"At this point of time, the Metroid Prime 3 is expected and the line of circulation for the Wii climaxes with two products that I do not believe... can be categorized. The reason for the Wii Health Pack and the Wii Music that will circulate at the end of this year. In the Wii Music the user taking the Wii Remote in his hands will be able to use it as baton in order to compose his music. In his television will be portrayed an orchestra of musicians and while they play some default music, he will have the possibility of intervening and declaring a specific musician (e.g the pianist) to solo, composing the musical piece that the user wishes. The music composition that will be created from each user, will be stored and could be dispatched to his friends ".

"On the other hand, the Health Pack (according to first reports) will give the possibility to the consumer of executing certain exercises, where all the biometric elements will be transported via the corresponding channel that will exist in the Wii to a hospital. Wii will have a contract for such a service with a hospital in every country. After certain hours the results of the check up will arrive back in the user's house!"

Good additions to the Wii. Come on then JT, come out and tell us gaming is bad for us.

I like the sound of Wii Music, something different to all the rock band stuff of Guitar Hero. It would be cool if you can use cds/mp3s of classical music you have to load into Wii. Wonder if my Castlevania: Symphony of the Night soundtrack would work? That would be cool.

Wii Health is good to keep people playing, now I'll never have to bore myself to death in a gym again.

I can't believe anyone else hasn't said it already, but WTF??! Why the heck would I want to use my Wii for fitness? Kids, GO OUTSIDE AND KICK A FOOTBALL. Get some sun for god's sake you pasty bastards. And PLEASE don't get the health system involved in this...

This is the 'revolution' that was promised? I'm actually crying right now.
