Well, it's that time of the week again. Virtual Console day! It's not been officially renamed yet, but SPOnG's sure it's coming. This week's journey into the past takes us boxing, ninja-ing and otherwise fighting.
Punch Out's a Nintendo golden oldie. It takes things way way back to the eighties and into the funny little booties of a wannabe boxer. If you contend well enough you'll rise through the ranks, building your rep and maybe, just maybe, earning the title of world champion.
Punch Out'll set you back 500 Wii points.
Next up is Konami's
The Legend of the Mystical Ninja hailing from the SNES. Controlling Kid Ying and Doctor Yang, players must battle their way through hordes of baddies and solve puzzles in order to rescue (you'll never guess) a kidnapped princess! The more we look at Virtual Console the more we start to think developers from the last millenium were a bit short on plot ideas...
The Legend of the Mystical Ninja costs 800 Wii points.
Last but not least (well, maybe least) is
Dragon’s Curse from Hudson Soft, ported from the TurboGrafx-16. The game follows a warrior (Wonder Boy in other platform versions) who's had the bad luck of being turned into Lizard Man. Which sucks, really. If he wants to turn back into a human he's going to need to get his mitts on the Salamander Cross. Dragon-fighting ensues.
Dragon's Curse costs 600 Wii points.
That rounds out the weeks VC offerings, and put the total available on a nice, even 70.
