Capcom: Devil May Cry No Longer PS3 Exclusive and Resi Evil Latest

Plus Resident Evil Latest

Could the days of third-party exclusives be over? This certainly seems to be the case, with the news today that Capcom’s Devil May Cry 4 (pictured) is to be released on Xbox 360 and PC as well as PlayStation 3. Release date is still to be confirmed.

A Capcom rep told SPOnG earlier today, "Mark Beaumont [Capcom’s newly appointed Euro boss] said in a recent interview that he sees Capcom as being ‘platform agnostic’ going forward.... but of course there will still be occasions when a particular title is associated with a specific platform – such as with Umbrella Chronicles on Wii."

Aaah, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles on Wii, we cooed; and when are we going to see this next instalment of Resident Evil Goodness?

“It’s still on track for later this year, so don’t worry about that,” our happy Capcom PR guy told us.

Phew. Here’s the E3 teaser trailer in case you need a quick reminder. And stay tuned for some new Capcom titles which we are informed will be announced in the coming weeks.

It makes sense since the playing field is a little even with 360, PS3 and PC. Obviously Wii will get left out in the cold, but with PS2 development going on I don't see why developers can't switch from PS2 to Wii instead of bailing on it in such a way. Its not like Wii hasn't an audience, possibly one that may rivals PS2s efforts eventually. I looking forward to RE:UC a lot.

Glad to see DMC on 360, but I hope this isn't another half arsed Capcom effort like with Onimusha (get the first game and then no more) on Xbox.

How about a Shadow of Rome sequel too then, Capcom? That could work well on Wii, next to RE:UC and Devil Kings 2.
