PSP's Overpaid Glory Hunting Footy - Latest Screens HERE

Glory boys in miniature

Yup, it’s that time of year again. We're hitting the quarter finals of the horribly misnamed UEFA ‘Champions League’. Pub television screens everywhere will soon be ablaze with glory-hunting glamour queens battling it out to bring home the silverware. Never one to miss a marketing opportunity, EA's released some new PSP screens from its upcoming UEFA Champions League 2006–2007.

Sony, meanwhile, is rubbing its hands together with glee. The canny buggers managed to slip Sony advertising into all versions of the game, including the 360 iteration, through its sponsorship deal with UEFA.

While Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea fans will be sloping off down t'local and then going out fighting, SPOnG will be sat at home wishing it was heading to watch Huddersfield Town versus Bristol Rovers on a wet Wednesday evening, reminiscing about the days when footy was about love of the game... and Bovril.

UEFA Champions League 2006–2007 is due out on March 23rd.

Lol. Hey I love the game. Silverware is still the ultimate quest as well as the treats that follow it. I'm a Liverpool fan so my money is on them again, to win it a sixth time.

A PSP version, but what I want to know is why should I need to buy this over Fifa 08, which should be out soonish? Do we really need a FIFA and UEFA game and do they both actually sell well? Looks good but I'm yet to buy a UEFA game ver FIFA. Looks good mind.

Hudderfields Town? Who are they, again? Didn't know they had a team.
