World Of Warcraft vs Second Life For Virtual World Domination

Burning Crusade expansion pack adds to the virtual world dominantion

The results are in, and the hands-down victory in the crusade for virtual world domination goes to the nerds! World of Warcraft has now claimed over eight and half million souls worldwide - compared to the Second Life and its just over four-million subscribers.

When will it end! It’s like a virus running rampant through our youth!

The latest sales figures just in from publisher Vivendi inform us that recent expansion to the game, The Burning Crusade has already sold through approximately 3.5 million copies in its first month on sale. Unsurprisingly, The Burning Crusade has now established the new one-month record for PC-game sales.

World of Warcraft’s worldwide subscriber base now numbers more than 8.5-million and is continuing to grow as new and returning players join existing players in the game.

While Blizzard continues to pave its HQ with solid gold tiles, SPOnG spoke to our WoW-addicted colleague Chris, aged 34, who told us, “The Burning Crusade is just a thing of beauty. Though I have to say I don’t think I’ve actually left the house in the last month. My local pizza delivery store is very happy with Blizzard!”

Are you addicted to the World of Warcraft? Do you need urgent help? If so, SPOnG can only advise you to turn off your PC, go for a nice walk in the park and try to communicate with other people verbally and face-to-face for a change.

Oh, just forget it. You are doomed.

"When will it end! It’s like a virus running rampant through our youth!"

I stopped reading at that point, because I knew whatever came next would be garbage.
