If you take a glance at your Wii this morning you'll find a new channel waiting for you: the ‘Everybody Votes’ channel.
It does what it says on the tin; Wii owners are given the opportunity to cast their ballot on such cutting edge issues as how they prefer their eggs, and whether they prefer to eat or sleep.
Not the sort of hard-edged, gaming related questions you were expecting, are they? Fear not. There's a 'Suggest a Question' option available so, no doubt, the channel will shortly be filled with tough queries relating to cutting edge contemporary issues.
You can’t simply post your questions directly to the channel, however; you have to ‘suggest’ it instead. The upside here is that this will stop the channel turning into a barrage of inane and annoying questions. On the downside, well, whatever happened to freedom of speech, eh?
You cast your vote by registering your Mii on the channel and simply moving it to your chosen answer then clicking 'vote'. The channel also has the option to predict the most popular answer to a poll. Once the votes are in, the Wii will add the accuracy of your prediction to the voting data.
To get the channel all you have to do is download the software from the shopping channel, then run a Wii update.
To test the limits of
Nintendo's censorship SPOnG suggested the question 'Xbox 360 Vs PS3. Which one?'
If the question doesn't go up, it will be a clear indication that Nintendo isn't the cuddly company we all think it is – but that it is, in fact, a fascist monster hell-bent on world domination.
The channel joins the recently added
Wii News Channel. It's another step towards the Wii community spirit Nintendo began encouraging with the option to trade Miis and mingle.
