If you like war games then
505 Games’ forthcoming ‘military combat simulator’ (read:
way beyond a mere ‘game’)
ArmA: Armed Assault is going to blow your brains right out of your ears, ya little puke!
Well, it’s not actually, but it is going to impress you, as it impressed SPOnG, deeply, when we were given a detailed run-through by the developers, Eastern European outfit
Bohemia Interactive, recently. B.I. has also just informed us of a bunch of new
ArmA: Armed Assault content and features to appear in the UK version when it releases a week on Friday (16th February).
Despite never having been anywhere near real combat (apart from fights behind the bike sheds), SPOnG can fairly confidently report that
ArmA: Armed Assault is the most frighteningly accurate and in-depth military combat simulator 'game' ever devised.
The game is a defiantly hardcore combat sim, yet one that may even win over a few PC gamers who might not usually be tempted by such things. This particular SPOnG-news reporter for example would usually claim to dislike war games, yet found the sheer depth and attention to detail in
ArmA: Armed Assault just mindblowing
The UK version of the “world’s most accurate videogame combat simulation ever” (WMAVCSE) includes a raft of new weapons, two new aircraft and two motorbikes. It also features an exclusive new open-ended mission not featured in the German and Eastern European versions already on sale, with those versions being patched-up with all the new content later in February (good news for all of our German and Eastern European readers!).
Bohemia Interactive’s ArmA: Armed Assault releases on PC-DVD on February 16th, from
505 Games.
