Microsoft is planning what it claims to be ‘the biggest live gaming event across Europe’ this coming Friday, the straightforwardly named
Xbox Live Party, where gamers across Europe will have the chance to log on into the biggest pan-European live gaming event of the year.
In terms of comparable events this, presumably, doesn't include or take into account the daily and ongoing 'live gaming event' that is
World of Warcraft...
One of the major draws to get gamers involved is the opportunity to possibly take on a number of celebs and stars of stage and screen head-to-head on Xbox Live, including American hip hop artist, Busta Rhymes; UK singer and songwriter, James Morrison; 2006 World Cup winner, Alessandro del Piero; DJ and producer, Martin Solveig; and Peugeot's Le Mans driver Marc Gene.
Busta, Dizzee Rascal, Lady Sovvie and, errr, some bloke who used to be in Blue will be rocking it on Live this Friday evening at a secret London location. Also hanging in ‘da hood’ will be Plan B; Arsenal striker Theo Walcott; and R’n B singer, Lemar.
Microsoft hopes that, ”Thousands of the five million Xbox Live members worldwide will be logging on with friends, musicians, footballers and DJs alike to take part in this unique event, giving gamers the chance to not only chat with their favourite stars, but challenge them to a game on the Xbox 360.”
If you want to get involved and take on one of the celebrities taking part, all you have to do is email your details to
xboxliveparty@njlive.co.uk putting in the subject line of the email the name of the celebrity that you would like to play against and, in the body of the mail, including the following information:
• Name
• Age
• Nationality
• Gamertag
If you are not lucky enough to blag your way into the celeb-studded London bash, then Microsoft is encouraging gamers to host their own Xbox Live Party.
Sign in to Xbox Live at 17.00GMT/18.00CET this coming Friday, February 9th to get involved. Free Xbox Live Vision Cameras are up for grabs to those who send in the best party pics. Check out
the official Xbox website for full details.
