Super Paper Mario Only on Wii This April

Makes 'interesting' use of Wii Remote. Details inside.

Super Paper Mario, originally pegged as a GameCube title, is finally coming this April. Although GameCube owners who have not yet been able to snag a Wii will be more than mildly upset that the game is now set to be a Wii-exclusive.

The latest issue of Nintendo Power confirms that the game will use the Wii Remote side-on style using the d-pad for platforming, the "2" button for jumping and "A" button to make the switch from 2D to 3D.

The mag vaguely claims that the game will also make ‘interesting’ use of the Wii Remote. SPOnG will be contacting our good friends at Nintendo in the UK today to find out more about what this could involve, so watch out for a full update on Super Paper Mario very soon.

In the meantime, let us know how you feel about Nintendo’s clear strategy to shift the focus away from the aging GameCube much more quickly than many fans had anticipated.

it only makes sense, nintendo have to give the wii as much support as possible.

for those who own a GC,they have plenty of games to play in the mean time,as they save up for the wii.

so will this be a RPG?i had it on the GC,great RPG.or is this going to me of a classic mario?

A blind man in a light-sealed box could have seen this coming from a mile away. This was Nintendo's plan all along and, as much as I loath them and their 'new' gimmicky console, my hats' off to them. GC was a failure, so what do they do? Release another Gamcube in a prettier box with a new shallow 'revolutionary' controller, give it some *basic* online functionality and charge people through the nose to play the likes of NES Tennis. So now all those old cube games that were canned mid development can be brought back to life and sent over to the Wii so a (for some unfathomable reason to me) veracious (blind?) fan base can lap it up. I mean why after all would someone pay $300+ for a Wii if the EXACT SAME GAME (minus tacked on waggle) if they could play it on their cube? No reason, is why.

Flame on Nbots!

Point and aim shooting is a really good reason for a dual analog aiming hater as myself.
That and Wiisports is just so much fun...aaaah fun...

I like the reason why they were making Super Paper Mario in the first place , because "they felt like it"...what developer can say that these days!
