Crackdown Demo Available Tomorrow

Delayed demo coming via Xbox Live Arcade

Posted by Staff
After a four-day delay Real Time Worlds' Crackdown demo is finally due to go live tomorrow. The demo will be available via Xbox Live Arcade as of 10am GMT.

The demo was delayed, not hitting its scheduled January 18th release date, due to its certification process taking longer than expected. Microsoft Game Studios is reporting that the full version of the game is now good to go, having gone gold last week.

The demo will drop players into one of Pacific City's four gang-controlled territories for some co-op super-powered crime-busting.

Microsoft is reporting high pre-orders of Crackdown, claiming (somewhat predictably) that excitement is mounting. While the game itself is one of the first major AAA-titles of 2007, SPOnG can't help but wonder if the high numbers of pre-orders have anything to do with the guaranteed access to the Halo 3 Beta purchasers of Crackdown will get. Call us cynics, but, you know....

I wasn't very interesting in this game at first, but I have been reading some previews of the game and it growing on me and looks quite interesting.

If the demo is any good I might go out and buy this. But I need to get my TV back first :/

Well, I haven't used a TV for games for over two years now. I have a projector, which would be analogous to a monitor since it has no circuitry for interpreting TV signals.

I now have one of these, which is a fantastic projector for anybody who is looking for one. It's 720p native resolution and it's much brighter than the specs would suggest, but best of all it's almost silent!

Burnout Revenge on the 360 is fantastic through it!

Public Service Announcement
Buying a projector will make you sound like a t**t to your mates. When you're used to a 70"-100" screen, you can't help but comment on how small their spanky new 52" LCD looks.

I've considered getting a pair of opera glasses just to rub it in at times. (what a t**t)
