Are you into upbeat trashy Euro-pop? Do you have a sneaking desire to be an overnight, worldwide pop sensation? If so, Konami needs you.
Once again the Japanese publisher has teamed up with US-based Broadjam, the self-proclaimed “fastest growing global community of independent musicians and fans on the web”, to find some new music talent to provide tunes for the next incarnation of Dance Dance Revolution.
Between January 15th and February 28th, users will be able to upload their wannabe DDR songs for rating by users on Broadjam.
The final two winners will be decided by March 7th, based on Broadjam user’s scores. As well as getting their music featured in a future DDR game, each of the two winners get $1,000 hard cash.
The man with perhaps the most awesome name in the games industry, Stillwind Borenstein, music director for Konami Digital Entertainment, said, "Last year's contest was a smashing success. Broadjam's experience, and vast membership, allowed us to find unique music that really matched our game….we’re very pleased and excited to be working with Broadjam again."
The only requirements are that songs must be at least a minute and a half long, above 120 beats per minute and include "strong and/or catchy melodies."
Roy Elkins, founder and CEO of Broadjam, added, "We're honoured to work with Konami again and we look forward to finding the next great songs for their innovative Dance Dance Revolution products."
