New Virtua Tennis 3 Mini Games

We've got screens for your perusal

Posted by Staff
In SPOnG's September interview with the Producer of Sega's Virtua Tennis 3, Mie Kumagi, she hinted at new mini games that would be featured for training purposes. Now the screens have been produced to prove it.

Two games are shown: 'Bulls Eye' and 'Alien Invasion'. The former involves players trying to improve their accuracy by returning the computer's shots into one of two bull's eyes to score points.

The latter's a bit more dramatic. Players must repel a force of alien invaders, armed only with their trusty racket and some tennis balls. The lengths some folks will go to in order to enhance their performance staggers us, frankly.

Kumagi also told us: "I believe we've successfully achieved a realism that is close to live television broadcasting". It might be unfair to use 'Alien Invasion' as a tester, but have a gander at the screens to see what you think. Let us know in the Forum whether you reckon they've managed it.

I think Kumagi-san may need a new television.

Will there be a Wii version? I can't imagine playing Tennis with a joypad ever again.

I second that...i wa sjust thinking when reading the headline "this game needs the Wiimote" then reading the actual post "this game so needs a wiimote"

Then i remembered playing Wiitennis on my friend's Wii...really, everyone who's going to buy this game (Virtua Tennis) DO NOT PLAY WIITENNIS BEFORE THIS GAME! play it afterwards...then the effect is double as big.

How long till someone coems out with a nunchck extension cord?

I love wii tennis, but virtua will require the nunchuck for moving your character as thats part of the game. combine the full arm swinging of wii tennis with the nunchuck and you've got a problem.

First one to the wireless nunchuck adapter patent wins!
