New Harry Potter Game – Full Details and First Screens

Embarrasing admission inside

SPOnG-News has a rather embarrassing admission to make. We quite enjoyed playing the last Harry Potter game on the GameCube.

So, we are glad to hear the news today that EA is planning on bringing out Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix - the first next gen Harry Potter game alongside the new movie next July (you know, the one where Harry cops off with some witch or something).

The game is based on the movie which in turn is based on J.K. Rowling’s fifth book of the same title. We will continue to mock any adult we catch anywhere in public wasting their time reading these children’s books. However, we will, hypocritically, look forward to some more quality time playing the game when it arrives.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is scheduled to be released on (breath in) PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PSP, DS, GBA and PC (breath out).

SPOnG is most intrigued by the possibilities for motion-sensing control in the Wii version of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (wands anyone?).

Next gen Quidditch, any one? Bring it on, witch-bitches!

You can see the first screens from the game right here. You can also read daily tittle-tattle about the young actors in the film, their sexual predilections, their food likes/dislikes, their hopes for the future and the shameful skeletons in their closets, in the UK’s leading tabloid newspapers for the next six months.
