SPOnG Beats Six Times World Snooker Champion Steve Davis at Pool

Snooker loopy nuts are we!

If you want to play videogame snooker (or pool, or billiards) then Sega is just about to up the ante with World Snooker Championship 2007.

SPOnG knows this, as we spent last night playing the game at Riley’s Snooker Club in Victoria, (down in that) London. In between bouts of virtual snooker, we also managed to catch up with none other than Steve ‘Interesting’ Davis.

If, for any reason, you think we are fibbing, then you can see the pictures of our man interviewing the six-times world snooker champion right here. We’ll bring you that interview in due course. Right now, what you do need to know is that Sega’s World Championship Snooker 2007 is out early in the new year and it's a belter.

If last night’s performance is anything to go by the game has clearly improved SPOnG’s real pool-playing ability. Steve Davis left the club last night crestfallen, after being taught a lesson in how videogames can produce world championship-level sports stars out of the most unlikely candidates.
