A child’s dream come true: it’s hard to see how it can possibly get better than Activision’s forthcoming
Marvel Ultimate Alliance for Nintendo’s Wii, in which you get to control the superheroes you used to dream about, by mimicking their well-known moves.
The Wii version of the game makes use of an ‘Advanced Gesture Based Combat System’ making perfect use of the capabilities of the Wii-mote and Nunchuk controllers. With the Wii-mote, players can swipe upwards for upper cut punches and kicks, swipe down for stun attacks, sweep left or right for trip attacks, jab forward for heavy attacks and shake for quick, light attacks.
Use the Nunchuk’s analog stick for moving your hero and also for picking up objects, throwing, blocking, dodging and rolling. Plus you can also chain gestures together to create very powerful attack combos.
The game contains a 140 popular Marvel characters with the heroes roll call including, in no particular order, Spider-Man, Wolverine, The Thing, Captain America, Elektra and Thor as well as notorious Super Villains including Dr. Doom, Galactus and pretty much everyone else you can remember.
The Wii version is far and away the most exciting version of the game SPOnG has seen and we look forward to bringing you our full review in the coming weeks as we approach the 8th December launch date.
