Following on from the recent ‘Make Love Not Warcraft’ episode of South Park, a new episode features chubby little Cartman deciding to cryogenically freeze himself as he just cannot stand to wait
any longer until the arrival of Nintendo’s Wii ("It's like waiting for Christmas...times a thousand.")
Now, while SPOnG understands Cartman’s frustration, as we come into the last month of Nintendo’s long-running tease campaign on Wii (formerly code-named Revolution… remember that?) we certainly don’t advise trying to cryogenically freeze yourself in order to avoid any further wait in the hope of merely being able to defrost yourself on November 19th (in the US) or on December 8th (in Europe)
(Damn! Frozen Ed’s head)Otherwise, you might, just like Cartman, make an error and find yourself five hundred years in the future surrounded by aliens with funny-shaped heads. Although it would of course be interesting to see what videogames they are playing in 2506 AD.
In Cartman’s nightmare scenario though, the worst thing possible happens – he arrives in a future where where there are no videogames and man is at war with an army of sea otters.
Here’s a little taster if you missed the episode, as Eric paces up and down outside his local game store in the South Park mall:
Eric: C'mon. C'mon! For the love of God, how much longer?!
Mrs. Cartman: There you are Eric, what are you doing here?
Eric: I'm waiting for the new Nintendo Wii to come out.
Mrs. Cartman: When does it come out?
Eric: Three weeks ... c'mon. C'mon!
Mrs. Cartman: It's time for school.
Eric: No mom! You don't understand. I've been waiting for this thing to come out for months, and now every day time is slowing down. It's like ... waiting for Christmas ... times a thousand.
Mrs. Cartman: Eric, you're just going to have to be patient.
Eric: No! Nooooo!
Not long now children, as Chef might say! SPOnG has a Wii surprise to unveil early next week, so remember to keep checking back for all the latest news and previews as we finally approach launch.
