Nintendo has finally confirmed that our beloved WarioWare: Smooth Moves will be out in the US on January 15th and will follow ‘sometime shortly after’ in Europe. Which means, as we originally predicated, spring 2007. Bah!
This confirms SPOnG’s report back in September from the
European Wii press event at London’s ExCel. At the event Nintendo’s David Yarnton told us (or rather we brilliantly extrapolate from what he didn't tell us), not to expect the game until well into 2007.
As we told you back then, “Unfortunately Yarnton could not confirm a date for WarioWare: Smooth Moves for us, so we can only presume that we are going to have to wait until next spring for that one. Of course, we'll bring you confirmation on the date as soon as we get it.”
Aside from buying the title on Japanese import for a small fortune from CEX, it looks like we’ll have to make do with some of the other Wii launch titles until next March.
So, it’s lucky we’ll have Zelda: Twilight Princess and all the other launch gems to keep us smiling until then. We oh-so professionally listed these for you in
SPOnG news last week. You can read SPOnG’s full
WarioWare:Smooth Moves preview from earlier this year, which tells you all you need to know about why Smooth Moves is an essential Wii title.
