The guys over on Engadget have posted some interesting new pics of a range of Wii peripherals and retail marketing standees and other such exciting stuff, also noting down the retailer mark-ups for the Wii console, games and accessories.
Perhaps the most interesting of the accessories to appear are these rubber Wii-Mote gloves, which come in packs of three, including wrist-straps. Nintendo yet again doffs its cap to Apple in the making of 'must-have' peripherals stakes.
Engadget also offers the following pricing information from the CompUSA hardware/software mark-up sheet for Wii, showing that the retail mark-up for the console is a mere $12.50, whereas the much higher mark-ups for games and accessories are where vendors reap the rewards.
Wii Retailer mark-ups in US$:Wii Console - 249.99 / 237.50
Wii Remote control - 39.99 / 32.00
Wii Points card - 24.99 / 17.00
Wii Classic controller - 19.99 / 14.50
Wii Nunchuk controller - 19.99 / 14.50
Wii GPak Organizer & Travel - 29.99 / 18.95
Wii Rayman Raving Rabbids - 49.99 / 41.22
Wii The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - 49.99 / 40.00
Wii Red Steel Revolution - 49.99 / 41.22
Finally, there are these funny little Wii dogtags, which presumably you can wear around your neck. Why you would want to do that is a different matter entirely, unless you are still a fan of S-Club circa 2003.
