Unofficial flash version of Wii’s Mii creator inside

Posted by Staff
SPOnG is probably more excited about the Wii’s Mii Channel, which we told you all about last month, than we really should be – being fully-grown men from the north and all that.

However, Nintendo’s nifty avatar creator will let us knock up 3D caricatures of both ourselves and our family and friends, which we are almost looking forward to as much as introducing our Gran to Wii Sports on Christmas day.

If you, like us, want to start convincing your non-gaming friends and colleagues of the value of Wii, then you might well want to send them this Flash version of the Mii creator to see what they envisage themselves like in Wii world.

SPOnG's been fiddling with it all morning (and the Wii Mii thing to? - Ed), as have some of our lady friends, which must surely prove that Nintendo's lady-friendly Wii stragegy is working. Plus, don’t forget that your Miis can also be transported between consoles via your Wii-mote. To see how the Flash version compares with the real thing, check out these presentation video of the real Wii Mii channel.

I would have been happy with better designed character models to play with, but I'm just being fussy. I guess the cute appeal will grab the mainstream though.

It doesn't matter what they show or what they try to tell us. Nintendo lied to us. Just read the article from the link below. Wii hardware is nothing but a gamecube 1.5. I can't believe they fooled with the several interviews saying that Wii will look a little less than a 360 on standard TV.

"The hardware is basically a GC. We've upgraded our development tools to new versions but, you can still use GC programs as they are. With that in mind, I thought we could remake GC titles for the Wii and modify them to work with the Wii remote so that they're more fun to play."

Has Nintendo licenced this from the makers of "Wee Mee"? There's certainly no mention of a partnership on the site.

No one likes someone telling things they shouldn't...!
