PS3 Games Priced

Third-party titles for $59.99.

Posted by Staff
Sony Style’s North American website has a selection of third-party games available for pre-order at the now-standard next-gen pricepoint of $59.99. The games listed on site at time of going to press are: Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII; Call of Duty 3; Full Auto 2 Battlelines; Marvel Ultimate Alliance; Sonic the Hedgehog; Untold Legends Dark Kingdom; and Tony Hawk's Project 8.

Sony has not yet divulged how much it’ll ask for its first-party titles, but we can’t imagine that the prices for its own games will be higher or lower than the offerings from Ubisoft, Activision and SEGA. There’s also no confirmed info as yet on prices for Europe, but again, we reckon that they’ll be no more and no less than the price of a new 360 title, which command as much as €69.99 or £49.99.

Finally laying to rest those stupid rumours of $100+ per game...

I wonder if Call of Duty 3 will ship without weapons but giving you the option to buy them online, that way, you only use the weapons you want!

ow wait no that would be sony 1st party games

Still damn expensive though. I feel someone laughing all the way to the bank. On a plus side PS3 is region free so to avoid the expensive games many can now import foreign games.

Mmm, I wonder how the likes of Game will sit with that?

The 360 is "region free" too - region locks are up to developers. In other words... it's region locked. I can't see PS3 being any different.
