Metal Gear Solid 4 Not Only About Sneaking

Snake - a bull in a china shop? Latest info inside.

Konami will show the latest trailer from Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots at Tokyo Game Show later this week, which is reported by Famitsu to be around six minutes long and mostly comprised of actual gameplay footage. Which is a first! Plus, series creator Hideo Kojima tells the magazine that there is around a year of development left to do on the title, so it doesn't sound like we will be seeing it until late 2007 at the earliest.

Famitsu also quotes Kojima as saying that the game is no longer only about sneaking missions, with the title being a lot more freeform and players having the option to rush enemies with all guns blazing, Butch Cassidy style, should they so wish. Although SPOnG suspects that should you take this option, progression through the game might well be notably slower.

Apparently the trailer will contain more details on Close Quarters Combat (CQC) in the game, along with further examples of Snake's 'Octopus Camoflage' in which he is able to disappear by adopting the same colour as his surroundings (don't they mean Chameleon? - Ed) plus Snake's Metal Gear Mark II robot buddy.

SPOnG will be sure to bring you the trailer as soon as we get hold of it, along with all the latest detailed news on MGS4: Guns of the Patriots. Check our recent news on the title for all the trailers and info we've had on the game to date.

Looks sweet as usual. I heard that this is supposed to use a RE4 over shoulder perspective, which is a good step forward for the series.

I believe octopus' actualyl can swap colors more rapidly than chamelion's. Plus i dont know if they even have chamelions in japan, so octopus seems the logical choice.

LINK MAGIC!
