Japanese gaming bible Famitsu reports this week that a 'new' Ninja Gaiden title, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, is currently in development for the PlayStation 3 over at Tecmo.
The magazine is unclear as to many details on the title, but it does state that players will be able to play as the buxom bad girl, Rachel. Whether or not this is instead of, or as an additional option to playing as Ryu Hayabusa has still to be confirmed.
The release date is still 'TBA' and current Interweb speculation seems to suggest that the game will be a polished-up version of the Xbox's Ninja Gaiden Black, as opposed to an entirely new outing of Itakagi's baby. It seems far more likely that Tecmo will release the next proper new iteration of Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox 360, with Itakagi being quoted by IGN as telling them that Team Ninja will "continue bringing out the newest releases on the Xbox platform before they're on other systems."

Thats just stupid...another remake... why not make Ninja Gaiden 2 for both PS3 (since you know it will not sell well with 360 in Jap) and 360... then make the remake for the Wii. Now that will be a winner for Tecmo all the way to the bank.

I agree this game should be on Wii too atleast. I think many developers are already putting much faith in PS3 than buck the status Sony quo.
There has been a shift since 360 and many will for Wii too but time will tell what sells. I still find the high game prices for 360 and PS3 will spoil things for developers/publishers takings, because less game will be purchased as a result from shops like Game etc. Many will again look online for cheaper prices.
I just hope Tecmo commit more than retro games to Wii. We know they are talented enough to do more.

well, this is good news for me as a playstation fan who also happens to be a team ninja fan. this game signals a sway for team ninja, who i dont think would have considered makeing a ps3 game at all a year or 2 ago. all i can hope for now is a dead or alive 4 hardcore or something of that nature for the ps3 soon.

Ninja Gaiden was XBOX ONLY and did VERY WELL.
Ninja Gaiden 2 will be Xbox 360 only hopefully and STAY that way for a long time!
I dont give a flying f**k if Microsoft lose or win Japan they still have the rest of Europe and USA/CAN and Australia and other parts of the world that they are doing VERY well in.
I love Ninja Gaiden and ANYONE who thinks that it should be on the PS3 or Wii should go kill themselves!

Saiyan, get a life man. Regardless of what we think, its up to Tecmo where they port Ninja Gaiden. Such an overeaction is uncalled for.
Get used to it, its gonna be on PS3. Now try to get some sleep at night, its not the end of the world. Xbox has done well from it and that's good, but a japanese deveoper is always gonna favour their japanese console development over MS's 360.
