Fans of PSP blob-a-thon Mercury, from Ignition Entertainment, may well be glad to hear that a PS2 version of the series' last PSP outing is set for release before Christmas.
Mercury Meltdown Remix, is the silvery-liquid-metal-based franchise's first showing on the PS2 and is certainly a must for fans of decent, innovative puzzle games. Especially if they don't happen to own a PSP to play this month's Mercury Meltdown on (out on 29th Sep, for those who like the look of it).
The game play is Marble Madness simple - you take control of a liquid Mercury 'blob', and guide it around various obstacles and hazards to reach an end goal. In MMR, the little globule of killer Mercury ('state of the art blob physics') has 4 varying 'states' - Normal, Solid, Fast and Slow and the game features a total of 12 labs (the name of MMR's 'game worlds', two of which are exclusive to this PS2 version) and a whopping 200+ levels, to keep puzzle-fans happy for quite some time.
The game's being distributed by Atari and should be out in time for Christmas. Check out the first batch of screens SPOnG just received right here. And see SPOnG's dedicated Mercury Meltdown Remix page for all the latest assets and info.
