Capcom Moves Most Xbox 360 Games

Street Fighter and Dead Rising biggest on 360 right now.

Capcom are 'teh winn0rs' on Microsoft's Xbox 360 machine at the moment. Street Fighter 2 became the fastest selling Xbox Live Arcade game yet, and as we reported yesterday, a patch has been released fixing some of the reported problems.

Now it seems that the Japanese veteran has pulled off something of a double whammy in the States with their only other 360 title to date - Dead Rising - cleaning up in the new game stakes. The zombie horde annihilation sim has sold a staggering 500,000 copies, and so far it's only been released in the US. It's due to come staggering onto UK shelves, moaning 'Brains...brains!' next week. A smug Capcom of America attributed the game's success to 'foresighted... next-generation development', and a hefty dollop of marketing no doubt.

Zombies are always going to sell well, though, aren't they? It's a no-brainer! (You're fired - Ed.).

I'm not at all surprised by this success. Capcom have a magical touch that's special to gamers.

SF2 was a good move on Live. Dead Rising was always gonna sell to us Resident Evil fans anyway, and I suspect these and the Dawn of the Dead horror fans are the ones who are buying it.

I liked the look of Dead Rising from the moment I watched that old E3 video. It alone guaranteed that I'd buy a 360. I expect Capcom will be working on the sequel already.

Another good series they can sell for ages.

Place bets on Resident Evil characters appearing in sequel to fight along side you (or Onimusha 4 style). All that's left to do is spread a good series like this to other formats so they can make more cash.

Cheers Capcom.
