Nintendo Event in London September 15

Wii release date?

Nintendo Event in London September 15
With Xbox 360 comfortably sitting on shop shelves, PS3 and Wii are left duking it out in the ether in a rumour war of PR and pontification. Yesterday we reported the Jeux France claim that the next graphical Wii presentation will surpass anything we've seen so far. Today the mill grinds on, with the news that a Nintendo media event will apparently take place in London on September 15.

You may know that a similar event is slated for September 14 in America. Is there finally some sort of territorial equality that will see all corners of games-playing Earth tantalised evenly? And what can we expect at these putative press conferences? A Megaton demo of the kind alluded to yesterday?

We think it's unlikely that the Wii will pull eye-candy rabbits out of its plumber's hat. There's nothing wrong with the crisp graphics we've seen so far. Sneering detractors dub Wii the GameCube 1.5, but if the Resident Evil titles were anything to go by, then the little purple lunchbox barely fulfilled its potential anyway. Perhaps more likely (and probably more exciting) would be an announcement of release date and price point. Or maybe just more teasingly, the release of a different colour DS Lite. We'll have to wait and see, so watch this space.

If they don't share pricepoint and launchdate, someone's going down.

Considering there's something going on stateside the day before, that screams global time difference for some big announcement, so they probably be announcing the U.S price on 14th and U.K/EU one on the 15th. We'll know soon enough.

The timing is right with TGS looming soon too, so if anything isn't said on 14/15th, it'll be done at TGS (or Spaceworld, whichever).

£120-130 for Wii, £30 for the games are my guesses. Can anyone better that til we find out?

I'm betting it'll be the new colour DS.

If it is the console price, I'll got for between £150 and £170.

good point there spong
The gamecube never did live up to it's potnetial.
They shouold have made the first Zelda game look like the Twilight Princess from instead of doing the cartoon thing and the Resident Evil games were gorgeous.
But who else did anything
at all!?

I love the Wind Waker - it takes joint best Zelda game next to Link to the Past.

The cartoon graphics, charm and humour are for me what the Zelda franchise is all about.
