Guitar Hero II – Guns N' Roses, Lynyrd Skynyrd and More
SPOnG confidently predicted earlier this week that Guitar Hero II will be rocking into European stores on Friday, November 24, shortly after its November 7 release over in the States. And, as RedOctane has remained tight lipped when asked to confirm or deny, we stand firmly by this date.

In fact we are so sure of the Euro release date, that we have pledged to give a whopping £1000 to assist the poor lad in Omaha who broke his knee whilst rocking out to GH.

Of course, there really is only one thing we now want to know about Guitar Hero II - what tracks are in the game?

You probably know the first batch (full list below) which SPOnG told you about last month. So now you might want to get ready to wet yourself like an over-excited teenie when you hear about the latest two tracks to be announced - Guns 'N' Roses classic warbler 'Sweet Child O' Mine' and the Lynyrd Skynyrd classic 'Freebird' (you can check out the video for that here.)

In other Guitar Hero II news from EIEF in grimy Edinburgh this week, RedOctane also confirmed that the original guitars will be compatible with the PlayStation 3. Hopefully in addition to the wireless ones too, right guys? SPOnG is a bit sick of nearly breaking its knees like that tit in Omaha!

The final GHII game is set to include 55 songs in total. SPOnG will keep you posted each time RedOctane drops another rawk monster into the game and we can temporarily imagine ourselves to be a Keith Richards or Axl Rose-a-like rock god.

In the meantime, here's the setlist as it stands:

Stone Temple Pilots - Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart
Anthrax - Madhouse
Mötley Crüe - Shout at the Devil
Reverend Horton Heat - Psychobilly Freakout
KISS - Strutter
Black Sabbath - War Pigs
Butthole Surfers - Who Was in My Room Last Night?
The Kinks - You Really Got Me as performed by Van Halen
Rush - YYZ
Primus - John the Fisherman
Drist - Arterial Black
Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name Of
Guns 'N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Freebird

Awesome tracklist. Totally awesome. One of the only music rhythm games that says you can rock away and actually means it. As a mate of mine's spoof band one said: "We are metal. We are hard."
