Viva Piņata TV Series Kicks Off

Rare's massive new kids game to follow soon after

In a couple of weeks time, you'll be able to watch episodes of the Viva Piņata TV Show on the 4Kids network on Saturday mornings (click to see latest commercial). Well, that is if you live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Or if not in Canada, in the U.S. also.

If you live anywhere else then of course, should you so wish, you'll be able to see them via the beauty of Bittorrent shortly after this.

4Kids TV is aiming the show squarely at younger kids, with the Rare developed game to follow on Xbox 360 later this year.

The 4Kids' press release outlines a little more about the show: "Viva Piņata (premiering September 9): Produced in partnership with Microsoft and Rare Ltd., Viva Piņata is a CG-animated comedy series that goes behind-the-scenes to the fun-loving world of Piņatas. These treat-filled party animals live the sweet life on the lush Piņata Island. But what they like the best is to blast-off to parties around the world to bring joy and fun to kids of all ages. Join Fergy Fudgehog, Paulie Pretztail, Franklin Fizzlybear and Hudson Horstachio for a whole lotta laughs. Wherever they go, they're the life of the party! The fun continues with a Viva Piņata videogame available this Holiday from Microsoft."

It's a major new next generation videogame from Rare and hey, so it's for kids, that doesn't mean we can't enjoy it too eh? SPOnG will be bringing you all the latest on Viva Pinata over the coming months as we approach the game's release. We will be testing the reaction to the game amongst our younger family members, in a half-hearted attempt to make out that we aren't really interested in playing a kid's game. Honest sis!

First Rare game in ages where the art direction doesn't make me feel sick.

fun side note, 4kids arent doing to hot these days. Just posted a gross income this year of 16.7 mil, but their net was only $34,000. Youch!

They put a nice positive spin on it that makes fair sense but still 34k for a quarter for a company like that is pretty sad. For their sake i hope this lil deal with MS/rare does them some good.
