"ROFLMA @ GayCube pwned off of teh PSPZ!!!!111one!!11" So says the Internet at the emergence of
this video purporting to be GameCube Wind Waker running on a PlayStation Portable emulator.
Indeed, online coverage of the video has gathered some momentum, with many proclaiming it to be the first of many GameCube games illegally headed to the Sony machine. The text accompanying the video reads:
Here's a little thing I've been working on for some time now.
Using a cut down (Start up sequence removed, it was way too buggy. Wouldn't boot) version of Wind Waker for the GameCube I managed to get it to boot on a 1.5 PSP.
For some reason I cannot get the emulator to not input all buttons at the same time, eg. Every button is constantly being pressed.
It also has NO sound support, probably never will.
It cuts out at random moments, this was the longest I could get it to run.
As I mentioned before ALL buttons are being pressed at the same time, no idea why.
It only runs this version of Wind Waker, that's an edited Japanese version.
The aspect ratio is bad and for some reason the color can bleed. This, in my opinion, is the biggest problem, I just don't know why it does it.
This is tech demo ONLY, do not expect this to lead to anything, ever.
It's a start, enjoy!
SPOnG saw this and wondered who would spend that much time making an executable video to run from PSP. It must have taken days of some poor geek's life!
This update then emerged:
NOTE: THIS IS 100% FAKE, I ONLY PUT IT UP HERE TO FOOL SOMEBODY I KNOW AND IT WORKED.
I CAN'T BELIEVE ANYONE WOULD THINK THIS IS REAL!!!
I'LL LEAVE THIS UP AS A EXAMPLE OF HOW EASY IT IS TO FAKE A VIDEO.
SERIOUSLY GC EMU?
ON A PSP?
NO!
Oh god. We hate the Internets sometimes. Too many people. Too much time...
