Shock News! Top Videogaming Show on the Telly Box!

videoGaiden’s first ever second series

It’s no secret in the SPOnG office that we love Consolevania – perhaps the only genuinely funny downloadable video show about videogames ever.

So it’s with a happy heart and a spring in our step that we welcome the news that the same guys behind Consolevania are bringing back their terrestrial TV show, videoGaiden, to BBC Scotland this coming November.

Each half-hour will be packed with reviews, features and opinion from the “nearly-dynamic presenting duo of Robert Florence and Ryan Macleod.”

Yes, we know, for all those readers who are not unlucky enough to live in Scotland, this is perhaps not such superb news, but never fear, you will be able to catch up with the antics of Rab and Ryan and their gang of weedgie misfits via the Internet web.

Plus the BBC will also be streaming episodes of the first series, should you have missed that too.

If you still haven’t got a clue what Consolevania is, then you really should keep up. Go to their website at Consolevania.com and download the latest episodes which as stacked full of swearing and righteous anger at shite games.

UPDATE: It will also be viewable on a Sky digital channel, although the fella at videoGaiden we just spoke to wasn't sure which one, merely that it was 'somewhere near the bottom near the porn'.

Cool news indeed. Lets hope it's on at a decent time. Would be nice if it got a slot on BBC3 or 4 with more airtime.

Talking of gaming shows who'd of thought Cybernet would still be on every week to the present. Despite its late scheduling it can be seen on Rapture alongside other similar but better show G@mers.

Only problem I fear is that Videogaiden might get sanitised too much, watch this space. Good news regardless.

If you have Sky (and I presume cable, too) you can usually watch the various regional variations of the BBC channels, i.e. BBC1 Scotland, BBC2 Wales and so on. When you first power up your box you usually get asked which one you want as your main BBC variant, but the others are usually buried around the channel 900 mark, as I recall.
