Motion Captured Skater Ollies into Tony Hawk
It's almost like bending the rules of physics
SPOnG first brought you news and full details on Tony Hawk’s Project 8 earlier last month.
One thing we have also mentioned about this title is the mindblowing motion-capture work that’s gone into THP8 (sounds like some kind of rave drug! – Ed), bringing you the original CG trailer shown at this year's E3 - the one which grabbed our minds and made us think we could be professional skateboarders again if we just put our minds to it!
Of course, this is a passing fantasy which recurs around the same time each year that we get hold of a new Tony Hawk’s videogame. Funny that! In reality, our creaky old bones and our sagging booze bellies put paid to thoughts of semi-pro skateboarding years ago. But, through the beauty of Hawk’s superlative skateboarding games we can but dream.
So, whilst we wait for Activision to come up with a title that's a bit more catchy for the next (gen) iteration in the series, feed your eyes with these stunning mo-cap vids, showing proper pro-skater Steve Williams. And remember, do not try this at home kids.
