Unreleased N64 Echo Delta Hits eBay
An auction for the unreleased Echo Delta has hit eBay in the last few days, continuing our accidental theme of heartbreak for Nintendo fans who still haven't grown tired of bemoaning the (mis)fortunes of the N64, years after the last cartridge-based home console gave up the ghost.

The seller in this auction is offering a tall Nintendo development cartridge hosting the CleverTrick title, a title which was canned by Nintendo, who opted not to publish the seemingly finished RPG/action/strategy outing. No reason was given and the underwater-themed game drifted away into the blue - strange, given Nintendo trumpeted it as one of its major offerings during SpaceWorld 2000. It has been suspected that when the game was complete, Nintendo's then notoriously sharp practices when dealing with third-parties sunk Echo Delta, with talks breaking down to the point where the project was canned.

SPOnG is not entirely sure if the auction will be allowed to run its course. The seller is based in Seattle, home of Nintendo of America. Add this to the fact that Nintendo owns all the of physical development cartridges the game is pictured on, and it's likely that the highly litigious games firm will clamp down on the seller before he cashes in...

It's worth noting that there's tons of Nintendo test carts still in circulation, with every magazine and games site office housing a few hidden away in a dusty drawer. This writer is fairly sure SPOnG has the odd one or two knocking about. Perhaps we'll give them away, or see how the above auction goes and hawk them for beer. Or something like that...

Spong held an auction for a christmas (booze up) party.
This should be your annual dev cart for alcohol appeal.
Like Blue Peter only better :)

I can't remember this game. I remeber there was a strategy war game that looked pretty good, It was meant to be a 64dd game and maybe it came out. Nintendo must spend stupid, stupid amounts of money on games development only to chuck them in a drawer and never use them.
