One of the more original and eye-catching titles that Namco Bandai showed off at E3 was the Flagship Studio-developed Hellgate: London on the defiantly unfashionable PC.
This superb-looking action/RPG has since garnered a mantelpiece full of leading industry awards and accolades, including Best Role-Playing Game from 1up.com and nominations for both Best PC Game and Best RPG from the Game Critics Awards (the official E3 awards).
Genichi Ito, President and CEO for Namco Bandai, said of the game: "Hellgate: London was one of the showcase titles in our E3 lineup this year… With Flagship Studios at the helm, we knew it would be well-received, and the feedback from press and fans has proven that beyond our wildest expectations".
The game promises to combine the depth of an RPG with the action of an FPS – and while we’ve heard this line before somewhere else, the title really did stand out from the crowd out in LA. Check out the trailer to see Flagship Studios' vision of hell. It's interesting to note that it is set in London, which most of SPOnG’s staffers consider to be the real hell on earth.
