Well, we hate to say it, but we told you so.
As reported last week, the rumours were true. Nintendo has just confirmed with MCV this morning that the beautiful iPod-a-like white DS Lite and the rather more conservative city-boy black DS Lite will be available in Europe from June 23, retailing at £99.99 in the UK.
This writer’s better half will be more than happy with this news, as it means she will immediately inherit our old grey DS on June 23. We will not miss it. She will also be doubly pleased, as Nintendo also releases a new version of its girl-pleasing Nintendogs. Dalmatian & Friends will be available a week before the DS Lite on June 16.
The DS Lite will be followed on June 30 by must-have title New Super Mario Bros, and the much-heralded game for old gimmers - Professor Kawashima's How Old is Your Brain? - will be available June 9. SPOnG spies a bundle of handheld gaming pleasure on the horizon.
Now there is only one decision left for us to make. Trendy Apple-inspired white, or ninja-gamer black? It’s a hard life.
