Pro Evolution Soccer 6 – on DS and 360

First screens inside

Pro Evolution Soccer 6 will be heading our way this coming autumn (or 'fall', depending upon your linguistic bent). No news there, you may think, as a new Pro Evo is now as much of a tradition as falling over drunk after gorging on turkey and booze each Yule.

What is good news is that you'll also be able to pick up Pro Evo 6 for Xbox 360 or for Nintendo DS, plus the gameplay's been improved in a number of significant ways (is this possible? - Ed).

Here, right here, with no further ado, are the first screens of the must-have football title for this autumn. Of course, we have previously said that Codemaster's new Sensible Soccer was the must have football title for the summer. But hey! You cannot get enough of good football games. Just buy anything! As long as it's not FIFA. Then we would just encourage all your friends to shun you.

So, what are these new features Konami's banging on about then? Graphics are clearly going to be loads better and player AI has been massively upgraded, with players running intelligently into space when not in possession of the ball and pointing where they want the pass placed to continue the attack.

Pro Evo wizard, Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka also claims to have refined the shooting system in the game, with players being able to attempt more snap shots. Plus, volleys and half-volleys have been redesigned, its easier to retain control of the ball when sliding in to tackle, all-new feints and backwards dribbling are now available, headers have been changed to allow players more movement in air and so on. Oh and there's loads more - improved refereeing system, new gameplay modes ... Do we need to go on?

There are also some new official kits licensed in the game, including Argentina, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Sweden. But to be honest, that's not what you buy Pro Evo for. If you want to see licensed teams, just go buy FIFA and be Billy No Mates again this Christmas.
