Hothouse Creations, a worldwide developer of interactive entertainment products, today announced the real-time tactical strategy game, Abomination: The Nemesis Project, for the PC. In development for 2 years, Abomination combines team based tactical strategy with real-time action and unprecedented multiplayer accessibility.

In the game it’s millennial mayhem as a virulent plague and a mysterious cult sweeps across the States. Luckily, a secret genetically-enhanced team of marines is in reserve, ready to restore order. Players control the team of eight characters through over 300 campaign missions, traveling through increasingly bizarre environments around the country, searching, destroying, and learning new skills in order to prevail.

“This is a deep game,” says Steve Goss, lead designer and producer, “the environments are as detailed as your control over your squad.

Abomination: The Nemesis Project delivers comprehensive research, resource management, and team management and offers the full gamut of strategy genre gameplay.” Goss’ past credits include pivotal roles in the creation of X-COM: Terror From the Deep and X-COM: Apocalypse.

Abomination supports co-operative multiplayer action for up to eight players through campaign and multiplayer modes, using Internet, LAN, and modem connections. Players can dynamically drop in and out of the campaign. Also planned are several player versus player games, including Capture the Flag, Hold and Destroy, Lone Runner, and traditional Arena play.

Abomination also supports play by email. After playing a mission, players can save a small replay file and send it to another person so they can see what’s been done, play the next mission (in campaign mode), or replay the mission and try to best their opponent. Email functionality provides a team experience, without all the players having to be on-line at the same time, bringing a new level of convenience to multiplayer gaming.

With a random scenario generator offering more than 1.2 million different combinations of missions across 40 unique types of terrain, which mutates as the game progresses, the title offers a vast quantity of gameplay value. Players can customise their teams with over 150 different military and experimental weapons, develop skills for the team members to meet their playing style (from sneak attacks to full frontal assault), and recruit new team members as the game progresses. Abomination: The Nemesis Project promises a new level of tactical strategy fun.
